Kingfisher Class have loved visiting the Grange school again for some brilliant sports fun! We played Quick Cricket and has lots of fun burning our energy.
We have explored the importance of Friendship this week and enjoyed spending time with Mrs O’Sullivan for Friendship Group.
This week, Kingfisher class were lucky enough to visit the Grange school to take part in a fantastic sports afternoon! They had such fun and are looking forward to next time.
In maths this week, we have been adding fractions with the same denominator and in English we have written our own diary entries based on a refugee narrative.
In Science, we have been testing different materials and their properties.
This week, Kingfisher class have been learning about the Properties of Materials and Changing Materials. They used the outside area to find common materials and discussed and tested their properties.
In maths this week, we have been learning all about ‘Time’. We have been measuring time in seconds and timed our own 100m run.
An end to another half term!
Kingfisher Class have worked exceptionally hard again this week! We have been reinforcing our multiplication and division skills by playing some great maths games!
In PE this week, the children have been practicing their skills for Sports Day next half term.
Next half term, we are very lucky to have been invited to The Grange School for Sports on the 16th and 23rd June!
Kingfisher Class have been overwhelmed by the support from everyone for our Jordan Banks Own Clothes Fundraiser today. We managed to raise £100 which we have donated to the official Go Fund Me page to help to remember Jordan.
This week, we have also been learning all about Time in Maths and have loved being able to explore our favourite Recommended Reads during Reading Week.
This week, Kingfisher Class have been learning about all the layers of the ocean. They have researched and designed their own layers to remind them which seas creatures we expect to see at each level.
During maths this week, we have been learning all about long division! A tricky subject, but it has nothing on us geniuses!
We were very saddened to hear of the terrible incident which has resulted in Jordan Banks losing his life. To keep Jordan in our thoughts, we made a tribute to Jordan and his family.
This week, Kingfisher Class have been exploring the fabulous world of forces! We began learning all about the force of magnetism and tested out which magnet was the strongest. We then studied the forces gravity and air resistance and investigated if air resistance would increase based on the size of a parachute.
We have had a fantastic week again for clubs this week. Ju-Jitsu club and Art club!
This week has been an exciting week for Kingfisher Class.
The children began their first Ju-Jitsu session and were natural martial artists!
We also took part in the Daily Mile and were super pleased about it!
This week, Kingfisher class have begun to use an atlas to identify the countries in the UK and the bodies of water that surround them.
In English, we have started to learn all about Jacques Costeau and his work involving oceans.
In maths this week, Year 3 have been adding pounds and pence and Year 4 have been learning to multiply three digit numbers.

This week in English, we have been writing our own Haikus and Metaphorical List Poems. We then performed them to the class.
We have also celebrated all of the important women in our lives who we want to celebrate for International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day!
