Summer Term 2 Information
This half term our topic is ‘Weaverham – Our Local Area’. We will be getting out and about in the local area and finding out about the village of Weaverham.
We will learn about where Weaverham is in the UK and in the world. We will study the schools address and our own addresses and look at maps of Weaverham to find out how close we are to school and each other.
Our English work will focus around the story – ‘A River’ by Marc Martin, the children will use this book to help them write their own circular stories, poetry and setting descriptions. The illustrations in this book will also inspire our artwork on a patchwork quilts.
In our RE lessons we will look at the Christian church and even have a trip to St Mary’s in Weaverham.
In Science we will continue our work on plants and we will be growing cress that we can use in our healthy sandwich DT topic!
The children will have PE on Monday, Wednesday and Friday afternoons so please ensure your child has a full PE kit in school all week.
As the weather improves please make sure your child has sun cream applied before school and that they bring a sun hat, water bottle and more sun cream into school (for them to apply) daily. Please label every item.
Reading – Books will be changed daily if you have signed and dated that your child has read at home.
If you have any queries please make an appointment to see us and we will be happy to help.
