This Term our topic is ‘Under the Sea’ with a focus on developing our geography skills. We are hoping to visit The Blue Planet Aquarium to find out about different sea creatures and their habitats.
In English we will be writing stories based on Rainbow Fish and The Sea Monster. We will get inspiration for our poetry from ‘Commotion in the Ocean’ and will write non-fiction leaflets and fact files about sea creatures. After ourclass visit to the Aquarium, we will be writing recounts and some riddles about sea creatures.
In Maths we will focus on multiplication and division then move on to fractions and measurements.
Religious Education will focus on developing our understanding of Christianity and Easter.
In Science we will be looking at Living things and their habitats.
This term PE will be on a Wednesday and a Friday afternoon. Please make sure your child has a clearly labelled PE kit in school on these days.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and needs to be returned to school the following Thursday. Homework will consist of a maths activity and a reading comprehension. Spellings will also be sent home every Tuesday and will be tested
the following Monday. Please support your child with their homework and let us know if they have any problems with it.
It is important that you read on a daily basis with your child in order for them to develop their fluency and understanding. Please make comments in the reading record book.
If you have any concerns or questions please come and see us before or after school and we will happy to help.
