Summer 2 Information
This half term our topic is ‘Weaverham: Our Local Area’. We will be learning all about Weaverham and finding out about signification events in the local area. We will also work as Geographers to find out where Weaverham is on different scaled maps.
Our art work will be based on the artist ‘Paul Klee’ and we will be sketching buildings found in the local area.
Our science topic for this half term is ‘Materials’. The children will investigate physical properties of materials and find out how the shape of materials can be changed.
Our English work will focus around the story – “Rosie Revere Engineer” by Andrea Beaty, the children will use this book to help them write their own invention narrative and an explanation.
In our RE lessons we will look at Islam and how Muslims express new beginnings.
Joe Wicks’s daily PE lesson will continue live at 9am.
Reading – Ruth Miskin’s daily speed sound phonics lesson will continue at the following times, followed by a spelling lesson.
Set 1 – 9:30am
Set 2 – 10am
Set 3 – 10:30am
If your child is in a phonics group, a Powerpoint will be on the google classroom with the book that they would normally take home each week. If your child is not in a phonics group, please can they read something from home every day.
