Happy New Year! I hope you have all enjoyed the well deserved Christmas break. We had a wonderful first term in year 2 and I am sure this will continue into the spring term. Below is some information that you may find useful for this term.
In English this term we will be reading ‘The Bog Baby’ by Jeanne Willis. To start the term, we will be writing a finding narrative using the book as a stimulus. After that, we will be writing instructions on how to create a habitat that is safe for a creature to live in.
Maths lessons will be recapping and expanding our knowledge on multiplication and linking this to division in maths. We will then move on to using everything we have learned so far and putting this into practice by using them in different contexts such as mass, weight and temperature.
PE will be every Wednesday and Friday afternoon. Please ensure your child arrives to school in their PE kit on these days.
Homework will be available to access on Google Classroom each week and is listed below;
- Daily Reading.
Spelling, maths and Writing will be uploaded onto the Google Classroom every Friday and is to be completed by the following Friday.
Our school day will start at 08:40 and and will finish at 15:00. For the safety of yourself and others, please keep a social distance and wear face coverings when on the school grounds.
Please see the topic web below that shows what we will be studying this term.
We cannot wait to have you back in the classroom,
Mr Marland & Mrs O’sullivan
