Swan Class Remembrance week

Swan Class Remembrance week

This week we have had a real focus on war and conflict and thinking about the fallen in our Remembrance  work. We made poppies in both tissue and origami and they made a lovely display on a cross as a centerpiece for the whole school display. We were then given the chance to paint rocks with images to commemorate Armistice Day on Wednesday. We went around the village hiding the painted rocks and hoping they would be found and re-hidden .  Two class members then read a poem and a prayer in our own school service on the yard that morning which, of course, finished with a minutes silence.

Our maths work has been decimals and how they link to fractions.   In topic we have been examining the reasons Britain declared war on Germany and in English we have continued or work on Rose Blanche and linking in the Diary of Anne Frank.

Well done to our learner of the week.
