All Things Christmas!
Crikey! What a busy week we’ve had in Kingfisher. We have been very busy doing our Autumn 2 assessments and trying really hard with our end of term quizzes. I’m really impressed with the progress many of the children have made over this half term. I am especially proud of the Y2 children who did their delayed Phonics Screening this week and absolutely smashed it! WELL DONE!
Rehearsals for the Nativity are in full swing – the children are working their socks off to make it an awesome performance. We can’t wait for you to come and see it next week.
We have all finished our stories now, based on Grandad’s Island. I am really looking forward to reading them – the children had some amazing ideas and were really considering their use of vocabulary and the effect on the reader. I can’t wait to find out about the adventures they wrote about.
We have celebrated Christmas Jumper Day today and the children all looked dazzling in their festive overthrows! We also learnt about the layers of the rainforest. Ask your child if they can remember anything about the emergent, canopy, understorey and forest floor layers. 🙂
Have a great weekend, see you next week.
