Anti-Bullying and Awesome Authors
This week, Kingfisher have been very busy in English writing their own stories based on The Bog Baby. I am absolutely blown away by their hard work – we have some awesome authors in our class and I am really proud of every single one of them for persevering and giving it their best shot! Well done to all.
In Maths, we have continued to work on Place Value. Year 2 have been working with tens and ones and Year 3 have been working with hundreds, tens and ones.
This week, we have marked Anti-Bullying Week by watching The Big Anti-Bullying Assembly and completing a ‘Give Me 5’ trust network activity – naming five people we can trust and talk to. Today, we also marked Hello Yellow for Young Minds, talking about emotional wellbeing. We took some reflection time to think about things that make us happy and sad, and things that make us anxious or worried at home or school. We wrote our worries, or our ‘baggage’ on pieces of paper, screwed them up and put them in the rubbish bag. Hopefully our worries will be taken away with the bin lorry. Thanks to all for joining in with odd socks or yellow clothing.
We have continued to enjoy Drama with Millie, French with Mrs Capewell and PE with Miss Burch. Everybody also absolutely loves Tuesday swimming lessons. They are the highlight of our week!
The School Council have had their first meeting this week and we would like to congratulate RL and RQ who have been nominated as our class representatives. Well done.
Have a great weekend, see you next week!
