Technology changes the face of war
Welcome to Autumn 2. Our topic is Battle of Britain so to set the conflict in context we looked at historical wars and the technology that as available to soldiers.
We have started reading a short book called Oranges in No Man’s Land which also deals with a wartime theme of a civil war in Beruit.
In our read to write unit we are examining the powerful story of Rose Blanche who represents the Nazi treatment of German Jews. We have looked at the feelings that the characters might have and wrote a contrast poem of the soldier and Rose.
In Maths we have continued to work on fractions – with a satisfying and positive result.
We are also working on poppies in Art this week as a prelude to our Remembrance work next week. Look out for pictures on twitter
Well done to our learner of the week for fantastic effort in topic work and supporting his friend to learn his spellings
