Wolves and Weddall Sea
We have started with new texts this week. We have begun to read the true story of the Endurance and Shackleton’s expedition to the South Pole. At the moment the craft is stuck in the Weddall sea and how Shackleton showed leadership skills to keep the morale of his crew high.
We have also started reading the Wolves of Willoughby Chase. A classic novel written in 1964 by Joan Aitkin. We are really focusing on inferring information about the characters and working out the meaning of some challenging vocabulary.
Thank you to the children who entered the Egg decorating competition-
Well done to the learners of the week – both Hailey and Owen received their certificates for having a positive attitude to maths this week. We were learning algebra – So I was seriously impressed.
We have also spent some time looking at banking and discussing what banks do and how we use them.
